Early and delayed acromioclavicular joint reconstruction provide equivalent outcomes

چکیده
Background Some comparative studies have reported improved outcomes for early compared with delayed reconstruction high-grade acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocations. However, most are based on older techniques and did not specifically involve of both the coracoclavicular (CC) AC ligaments. The purpose this study was to compare functional vs. surgical intervention dislocations managed combined CC ligament reconstruction. Methods A retrospective performed 53 patients who underwent ( Results cohort comprised 47 men (89%) 6 women (11%) aged 40.1 ± 11.2 years (range, 22-63 years). group (n = 31) surgery 1.1 0.5 weeks after injury, whereas 22) 84.3 99.1 injury. There were no significant differences in ACJI scores (87 14 89 14, P .267), Taft (10.1 1.3 10.7 1.3, P = .084), pain VAS (0.3 0.7 0.6 1.1, .541), SSV (95 7 93 9, .427), or overall satisfaction (9.6 0.9 9.4 .491). Multivariable analyses revealed associations between any independent variables score. Conclusions Early interventions dislocation provide equivalent clinical when fixation is used stabilization. Rapid may be necessary, as can still benefit from at a later stage.

متن کاملPrimary and Revision Acromioclavicular Joint Reconstruction
Injury of the acromioclavicular (AC) joint can occur as the result of direct or indirect trauma. The treatment of these injuries has remained controversial. The first reported surgical procedure for internal fixation of AC dislocation was performed by Cooper in 1861 using silver wire to secure the AC joint. Since then, a wide variety of techniques have been used. In 1972, Weaver and Dunn descri...
متن کاملArthroscopic anatomical reconstruction of the acromioclavicular joint.
Traditional techniques for restoration of a separated acromioclavicular joint are afflicted with various complications and often lead to recurrent dislocation. Lately, anatomic as well as minimally-invasive repair techniques with major focus on restoration of the coracoclavicular ligaments have been described for acromioclavicular joint reconstruction. We present a technique for an arthroscopic...
متن کاملComparison of Acute Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation Treatment by Screw Fixation with and without Ligament Reconstruction
Background & Aims: Acute acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation is common in shoulder injuries. Considering the biomechanics of this joint, the use of a treatment method, which can restore joint physiology and biomechanics to the extent possible, is important. This study aimed to compare the treatment of acute AC joint dislocation by screw fixation with and without ligament reconstruction. Me...
متن کاملSurgical technique affects outcomes in acromioclavicular reconstruction.
Optimal treatment for acromioclavicular (AC) dislocation is unknown. Numerous surgical procedures for AC injuries have been described with little comparison. This study sought to compare the clinical and radiographic results of various surgical techniques in order to identify the optimal surgical technique. Ninety patients met inclusion criteria of AC reconstruction at this institution. A retro...
